TAKE CLIMATE ACTION
The alliance asks government, business, and civil society stakeholders to sign a leadership statement committing to a zero carbon by 2050 future. Signing the leadership statement commits stakeholders to
- 1. Develop an internal net zero aligned decarbonisation plan.
- Use their influence to champion an economy-wide transition to #ZeroCarbon2050 with national government.
- Take action towards the creation of a net zero future economy for South Africa.
- Encourage others to join this Alliance to grow the network, build momentum and expand possibilities
The Alliance for Climate Action South Africa provides avenues for organisations to engage with each other to implement initiatives that lead us towards a zero carbon 2050. Each partner has individual programmes that do this and the alliance will also forge new programmes within the partnership. The initial focus is on working with cities who have committed to a carbon neutral 2050 to help them develop and implement their plans in collaboration with business and to facilitate business to business collaboration at sector level.
